An atmospheric old building beside the pretty River Eea is the home of Simon Rogan’s Michelin starred restaurant, Rogan & Co. Diners choose three courses, at both lunch and dinner, from a selection of seasonal starters, main courses and desserts. All at a set menu price.

The menu here is ‘regularly re-imagined, featuring comforting dishes which are skilfully prepared and made with carefully sourced ingredients from trusted growers in the region. Some of them are nurtured by hand at Simon Rogan’s Our Farm in the Cartmel Valley’. 

Our Farm is central to the ethos of all Simon Rogan’s restaurants, his team of chefs and growers choosing what to sow, when the vegetables, herbs and leaves are harvested and how they’re prepared. This ‘sets a benchmark for the calibre of ingredients and the dishes that incorporate them, while ensuring a traceable dining experience in all of the restaurants’.

So for starters, expect dishes such as terrine of Gloucester Old Spot pork, crumpet, apple and caper; caramelised potato, smoked eel, buttermilk and dill; and mackerel tartare, horseradish, radish pickles and dill. 

And for mains, look forward to the likes of wild valley game, celeriac, pear and fig leaf; aged short rib of beef with glazed mushrooms and whey onion; grilled skate with mussel cream, kohlrabi and cucumber; and confit pumpkin from Our Farm, Tunworth cheese, chestnut and stout.
