Vodka. Kin Toffee Vodka

Talk about the Christmas spirit. Within three years of launching Kin Toffee Vodka at Christmas 2013, Judith Wren was named Producer of the Year at the Cumbria Life Food and Drink Awards. In late 2018 the company was also judged Best Rural Drinks Business at the Rural Business Awards North.

‘Smooth blended vodka with rich caramel tones and a subtle kick,’ is how she describes her drink, a variation of which she first tasted while on skiing holidays in France where it was served as a warming spirit.

Over time Judith created her own recipe, tried it on family and friends - kith and kin - and then started making the vodka in small batches at a production unit in south Lakeland. And to remind everyone of its Lake District credentials - of being based at Newby Bridge at the south end of Windermere - you can see an outline of the Langdale Fells on the label of the bottle.

Kin Vodka won a Great Taste Award in 2017, the same year that Judith was named Booths Local Producer of the Year. She was also a finalist in 2017 for Best Drink Producer at the Cumbria Life Food and Drink Awards.

Kin Vodka: The vodka is available online and at many places in Cumbria including Booths stores, Cranstons food halls, Tebay Services on the M6 and Low Sizergh Barn Farm Shop near Kendal.

Kin chocolate truffles, Kin glasses and shot glasses, Kin candles and Kin Toffee Vodka gift boxes are sold as well.
