With nearly 30 years in the business, Lakes Ice Cream has become one of the most recognised food brands in Cumbria, winner of six Great Taste Awards.  

Three of those awards came in 2019, the first time the company had entered the ‘food industry Oscars’, and then a further three were given in 2021, ‘confirming the superb quality and flavour of our products,’ says the business. 

The most popular ice cream and winner of two stars is Double Jersey, from its luxury range. Thunder and LightningRaspberry Pavlova, Cartmel Sticky Pudding, Speculoos and Kendal Mintcake have all received one.

Lakes Ice Cream offers more than 50 flavours across its classic and luxury ranges, sorbets and vegan ice creams, all available and in a variety of sizes for the catering and hospitality trade and for the retail market.

Ice creams are stocked throughout Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire. In Cumbria, for instance, you can buy them in all the Cumbrian Co-op and Morrisons stores, at Plumgarths Farmshop in Kendal, Cranstons Food Hall in Penrith, Pioneer Food Hall in Carlisle, Westmorland Services on the M6 and Asda stores in Carlisle and Kendal.  

You’ll also find the ice creams at Windermere Lake Cruises, Brockhole (the Lake District National Park Centre), Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, The Old Bridge House Fudge Shop in Ambleside, Talkin Tarn near Brampton, Grizedale Forest Café, Siskins Cafe at Whinlatter Forest and Walby Park Farm in Carlisle.
